moments in focus…

Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (in Texas)

As I was working in the garden a few days ago this beautiful butterfly paid me a visit.  He stayed long enough for me to go inside and get my camera (I thought for sure he would be gone by the time I returned).

  1. Real nice shots against that blurred bokeh backdrop… I wish we had similarly impressive butterflies over here..

    • Hi david, thanks. He did stick around a while. Long enough to attract my cats, I was a bit worried they would make a snack of him- but they didn’t. -Kim

    • The sound didn’t scare him, but I actually had to be very still. Every time I moved, he did. -Kim

  8. This butterfly stayed with us during the entire graveside service for my husband. It was a wonderful and beautiful distraction. Thank you for such a pretty picture.

  9. May I use one of your butterfly pictures for a blog entry and reference back to you however you want? I’ve never used someone else’s picture, so I’m not sure about the ettiquette here.
